We love the look and fresh feel of the Bali-based design company HOBO. We love them. Literally. And we especially love them because their products support local village production.
Anna Pretty, Hobo’s Creative Director, has years of European design and retail experience, which she now puts to great use in Bali. HOBO chooses to use materials natural to the local landscape, therefore continuing and promoting ecological product development and production.
Over the years, Anna has worked with some of the greatest names and companies in European design, so when she decided to step off the corporate merrry-go-round and settle down in idyllic Bali, she brought her talent and eclectic tatse with her. And HOBO is the result.
These rattan topped occasional tables manage to combine the simplicity of Bali, without any hint of overly obvious, deliberate “ethnic” chic.
One of those “now why didn’t I ever think of something as chic as this?” moments – just look at how fabulous these old school chairs covered in Javanese batik are.
A little bit like Aladdin’s cave, Hobo’s Bali store is irresistible. If you aren’t tempted, well…you’re stronger-willed than us.
This is the moment when you bitterly regret not keeping that old furniture from your grandparent’s home…how effortlessly chic is this upcycled colonial 1940's vintage furniture?
Bali is home to some of the world’s richest and most unique craftsmanship, textures and materials, and HOBO loves harnessing such talent.
Timeless handicrafts meet European marketing skills : small wonder that HOBO chic can be found in homes all over the world, carrying a small piece of the Bali idyll along.
And here is the address of the Bali store.
